general tales of reckless abandon 2.0

another night in taksim

but better results this time.
we started out at a brewery called
taps in bebek which is where all
of the foreign exchange students were hanging out.
we took a taxi to taksim square with
a cool girl we met from australia named ezel.
she speaks turkish and has been to istanbul already.
so, we ended up at a dive bar on the 4th floor
of a building in the middle of taksim—called leyla terrace.
there was a jazz/blues band playing
and a ton of turkish dudes had dreads.
it was a pretty bohemian place in the middle of istanbul.
it was a lot of fun to drink efes and listen to good music
and hang out with a totally different crowd of people
than i have seen in turkey so far.

well, that’s the night. it is about 1 am. we started at 8?
note to self:
bring more money and cigarettes everywhere i go.
& buy a bus pass.
